Show Results from Recent Years

2020 & 2021

In 2020 & 2021 our Airedales only attended a hanfull of shows shows because of the Corona Virus Pandemic. However, International and Supreme Champion Oldiron Easy Peasy did manage Runner Up Best Terrier at the 2020 Canberra Royal Show. The 2021 Canberra Royal Show was Judged by Anne. 

Oldiron King of the Road (Kenny) started his career with a Junior in Show and a Runner up in Group at KCC Park.  His first three shows as an Intermediate resulted in a Best in Show, a Runner Up in Show and three Terrier Groups firsts. He completed his championship title in just six shows. 

 

2019

In 2019 Supreme Ch Oldiron Easy Peasy finished the year as Australias top Terrier Bitch, Australias No 1 Terrier Rising Star and Australias No 1 Airedale Show dog and Rising Star. Her 2019 results included 6 Best in Shows & Best in the Terrier Group at Hobart Royal making her the 6th generation of Oldiron Airedales to win a Royal Show Best in the Terrier Group. She was also Best in Show at the Sporting Terrier Club of Tasmania and R/U in Show at the Terrier Club of South Australia. Easy first all breeds BIS was awarded by terrier specialist Simon Mills when he judged his first All Breeds Best in Show.

While Donny has only been show a few times in 2019 he became first Australian Airedale to qualify as an International Champion. He also returned to the ring for the Terrier extravaganza weekend in June and was Best in Show at The Sporting Terrier Club of Victoria Championship show from an entry of almost 250 terriers under Terrier Specialist judge Vesa Lehtonen from Finland. 

In New Zealand

In New Zealand Gus, NZ Ch Oldiron Drivetime, owned, prepared and handled by Janice Parr and David Price is the No 2 Rising Star All Breeds and No 1 Rising Star Terrier in New Zealand. Against the adults he is the No 2 Terrier Show Dog of the Year at the half way mark. In the photo below Gus and Janice are shown winning R/U in Show at New Plymouth.

Donny's daughter Oldiron Easy Peasy made her show ring debut in late October and was Puppy in Show at the inaugural Tasmanian CACIB Show. In the last 2 months of 2018 she won 4 Puppy in Shows and 6 Puppy in groups.

2017

The first half of 2017 has seen Donny (Ch. Oldiron Who's on First) return to the show ring after his spectactular exploits as a puppy in 2015 where he collected 6 All Breeds Puppy in Show awards as well as Best Terrier Puppy and Reserve Best Airedale and Reserve best Terrier at the 2015 Royal Melbourne Show. Up to the middle of June Donny has won Best in Show at Australias only Airedale Terrier Club Championship Shows (NSW and Victoria), two All Breeds Best in Shows and Best of Breed at both the Canberra and Sydney Royal Shows.

In the latter half of 2017 Donny added best of breed at Both Adelaide and Melbourne Royal Shows and completed the year as not only top Airedale in Australia but also top Terrier in Victoria.Donny missed most of the last quarter of 2017 while Anne and Ron were overseas with Anne judging at Hatboro on the Montgomery weekend where she awarded her Airedale BoB winner Best in the Terrier Group. He then went on to Best in Show. Anne and Ron finished their overseas trip at the 2017 World Show in Leipzig Germany where Danya took Best of Breed Airedale under English specialist Liz Cartledge.

Donny's litter sister Blaze (Ch. Oldiron Where there's Smoke) was Reserve in Show to Donny at both the NSW and Victorian Airedale Club Shows as well as Runner Up of Breed at Sydney Royal Show

2016

After Melbourne Royal Show Danya finished the year with a further 4 All Breeds Best in Shows including Best in show at Hobart Royal. He added a second Royal Terrier Group by going Best Terrier at Perth Royal. He finished the year as No 1 Airedale in Australia, No1 Terrier in Victoria and No2 Terrier in Australia. His final tally of wins for 2016 was 6 Best in Shows, 10 Reserve in Shows, 32 Terrier group 1st, and 17 Terrier group 2nds.

At Melbourne Royal Show Danya's daughter Oldiron You only live once out did her father by going Puppy in show handled by Alice McGivenny-Harper. Emily Marshal handled Danya to Best of Breed and a finalist in the terrier Group.

At the 2016 Airedale Club of Victoria Championship Show Mr Wood Wornal (USA) awarded Oldiron Airedales their 30th Best in Show at this show. 17 month Old Ch Oldiron Wolf Whistle (Flirt) took BIS from the Australian Bred Class superbly handled by 18 year old Alice McGivenny-Harper. All three Oldiron bitches entered won their class. Flirt was Puppy in Show at the 2015 Airedale Club of Victoria Championship Show.

Danya with Emily and occasionally Anne has had a spectacular first half of 2016 ending June as the number 2 Terrier in Australia. Along the way Danya has won 2 All Breeds Best in Shows, 5 Reserve Best in Shows, a BIS 3rd and a BIS 4th. Of the 14 Terrier Groups he has won 9 have been under Terrier Specialist Judges as have both his Best in Shows.

At the 2016 Sydney Easter Royal Show Danya was awarded 3rd in the Terrier Group by renowned UK Terrier Specialist Geoff Corrish. 

 

2015

IN AUSTRALIA

At the Finnish Airedale Terrier Club Championship Show that immediately preceeded the 2014 World Show in Helsinki Anne awarded Best in Show to Ch Est Etium Ore Uno, Danya, for his outstanding temperament and good looks. Danya was owned, bred and handled by Julia Geller from Kiev in the Ukraine. Following extensive negotiations Julia agreed to let Danya continue his show career at Oldiron Airedales in Australia.  Danya is shown here with Emilly Marshal who will handle him exclusively in his Australian campaign.

At Australia's premier Dog Show Melbourne Royal, Donny (Ch. Oldiron Who's on First)  won both Reserve Best Terrier (Group 2nd) and Best Terrier Puppy. In doing so he became the youngest Airedale to :

            - gain an Australian Champion Title

            - to win Best of Breed at Melbourne Royal Show and

            - to place in Group at a Melbourne Royal Show

In Donny's first eight shows he was Puppy in Show four times

With his recent Best in Show at the Airedale Terrier Club of Victoria Ch Oldiron Trivial Pursuit gave Oldiron Airedales our 50th Airedale Terrier Specialty win, 42 in Australia, 7 in the USA and 1 in England.

Quiz (Ch Oldiron Trivial Pursuit) still not two years old won the first two Airedale Terrier Specialties of 2015, giving Oldiron our 41st and 42nd Specialty Best in Show wins in Australia.  At Easter Quiz was Best in Show at The Airedale Terrier Association of NSW Championship Show under Manuel Queijeiro from Mexico. On the Queens Birthday weekend again went Best in Show at the Airedale Terrier Club of Victoria under breed specialist April Clyde (Longvue) from the USA. At the Canberra Royal in Februrary Quiz was awarded Best of Breed by Patricia Craig-Trotter of the USA.

2014

IN THE UK 

MILLIE IS THE FIRST AUSTRALIAN AIREDALE TO BECOME AN ENGLISH CHAMPION AND THE FIRST TO WIN A BEST IN SHOW AT A UK AIREDALE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW.  

TORCH IS THE FIRST AUSTRALIAN AIREDALE TO WIN A CHALLENGE IN THE UK, SIRE A UK LITTER AND AN ENGLISH CHAMPION.

At the South of England Airedale Terrier Club Championship Show Millie became an English Champion when she went Best in show, the first Australian bred Airedale to gain her UK championship. She was prepared by John and handled by Deb Ryan.

At Southern Counties Championship Show Torch became the first Australian bred airedale to win a challenge in the United Kingdom. Millie went one better at Richmond (UK) when she was Best of Breed handled by John Averis. Millie has continued her show career with John and Jitka in England,Torch has returned to Australia.

IN JAPAN

GINNIE BECOMES THE FIRST AUSTRALIAN AIREDALE TO BE AN FCI JAPANESE CHAMPION. 

 Japanese Champion Oldiron At the Opera House (Ginnie) became not only the first Australian Airedale to gain her FCI Japanese Kennel Club Championship Title she also became the first Australian Airedale to win a Terrier Group First in Japan. Ginnie is a litter sister to English and Australian Champion Oldiron One in a Million (Millie) and Australian Champion Oldiron Fire Opal (Flame).

 IN EUROPE AND THE USA

 WORLD SHOW PRELUDE SPECIALTY WINNER COMING TO OLDIRON AIREDALES

IN AUSTRALIA 

Quiz stars in the second half of 2014

At our first show in Australia for this year, 13 month old Quiz (Oldiron Trivial Pursuit) was Best of Breed at Adelaide Royal Show 2014, at his first ever show. In his first 12 shows Quiz, now 15 months, not only became a champion but he went BIS at the Jim Jones Memorial show at Castlemaine for his first all breeds BIS, to add to his 3 Group 1st's and 3 reserve in Groups. 

 

2013 Show Results : 

In early October Torch and Millie went off to the UK. 

At just 20 months Millie (Ch. Oldiron One in a Million) won her first Royal Show group prize and Oldiron Terriers 50th by taking 3rd in the Terrier Group at the 2013 Adelaide Royal Show under Swedish Judge Karl-Eric Johannson. Torch added another Royal Show Best of Breed at the 2013 Melbourne Royal Show.

Torch and Millie made it a clean sweep of the challenges at Airedale Terrier Specialty shows in Australia in 2013 when they were Best in Show and Runner Up Best in Show at the Queensland Airedale Specialty under US Airedale Specialist Marcie Zingler. This is the first time Airedales from the one kennel have won all three Airedale Shows let alone take BIS and Runner Up at all three.Torch's BIS was Oldirons' 40th Airedale Club BIS in Australia. Millie is the number one Airedale in Australia in both the All Breeds and Breed catagories of the Dogs Online Show Dog of the Year Competition.

On the long weekend in June Millie went BIS at the Victorian Airedale Club under Argentinian Airedale Specialist Julio Cristofaro (Fairylands Airedales) with her father Sup Ch Oldiron Flamethrower (Torch) Dog CC and Runner Up in Show. Millie made it a very memorable weekend by adding Runner Up in Show at both Victorian Terrier Group Specialty Shows. On Sunday under UK terrier specialist William Browne-Cole (Travella Wire Fox Terriers) and on Monday under ACTU Terrier Specialist Simon Mills (Clayco Smooths, Aussies and Jacks). Since returning from Sydney Millie now 16 months has added a further 4 Bests in Group and a Runner Up in Show. At 14 months month old Millie won BIS at the NSW Airedale Club Championship Show over Easter. The judge was NZ Terrier Specialist Diane Riley. She made it a double in Sydney by taking BoB at Sydney Royal.

2012 Show Results 

 BOOMER IS THE STAR OF 2012

 Boomer /Ch Oldiron Boomerang

Boomer was the star of 2012 stating with BIS at the Airedale Club of Victoria  his third at this show and when added to his two at the Airedale Assoc of NSW champ show giving him five specialty BIS wins. He was also BIS at the Sporting Terrier Club of Victoria to make him the only Airedale ever to win Terrier Group specialties in three states, Victoria, NSW and South Australia. Boomer also won his third Royal group placing at Melbourne Royal Show with group 4th to add to his previous group 1st at Melbourne and Group 3rd at Adelaide. From only a handful of shows in 2012 Torch was the top Airedale in Australia for the third year running with the highlight being his Reserve in Show at South Eastern KC. Oldiron had four new Champions in 2012. Torch became our first Supreme champion and was later joined by Treasure (Oldiron Foriegn Xchange) who came out of retirement to take the bitch CC at Melbourne Royal. The other two to become champions were Ch Oldiron Fire Opal (Flame) and Ch Oldiron Terry HK Homer (Buddy)

2011 SHOW RESULTS  

WENDY AND TORCH WIN BEST TERRIER AT ADELAIDE ROYAL SHOW AND BIS 3RD

Supreme Ch Oldiron Flamethrower, Torchis the dogzonline the top Airedale Terrier in the country with three Best in shows in late October. Brilliantly handled by Wendy Baker of Gemcourt Kennels Torch won the Terrier Group Adelaide Royal at Show under UK Terrier Specialist judge Ferelith Sommerfield. After a fabulous 18 months in Adelaide with Wendy, Michael and Rick Torch has come home to Old Iron Park to continue his show and stud career in Melbourne. He has started back in Melbourne by winning Best in Show at Yarra Valley KC from an entry of 1200 exhibits

 

 Ch Oldiron Jungle Juice, Bundybecame an Australian Champion at one year and six days. Over Easter this year Bundy won Best in Show and Best Puppy at the Airedale association of NSW. At Sydney Royal he won Best Airedale , Best Terrier Puppy and with his family won Best terrier breeders team!  Resuming showing in the Spring Bundy has amassed 3 Bests in the Terrier Group, 4 Best Puppy in Shows and one Junior in show. All of this from only 15 shows ever.

BOOMER WINS OLDIRON"S 8TH TERRIER GROUP AT ROYAL MELBOURNE ROYAL SHOW 

    Ch Oldiron Boomerang (Boomer) was Best of Breed at Melbourne Royal Shows for the second time to add to his Best Terrier and Puppy in Show in 2008. He was also third in the Terrier Group at Adelaide Royal Show under Terrier Specialist Mike McBeth from Canada. Boomer was Best in Show at the 2010 South Australian Terrier Club under Judge Wayne Bouseck from the USA to add to his BIS at the NSW Great Joint Terrier show 2010 under NSW Terrier specialist Liz Wells. Also in 2010 Boomer has been BIS at both the Victorian and NSW Airedale Terrier Club Shows where the judges were both Airedale Specialists, Ingela Neilson (Sweden) in Victoria and Carl Palmer (NSW) in NSW. Boomer is currently No 1 Airedale in Australia in the dogzonline Best of Breed points and No 2 (to his baby brother Torch) in All Breeds pointscore.
