Welcome to my web page.
I started out in pekingese at the age of 14 with my first dog a particolour male called Jester (Kapai court jester)being a gift for me and my twin brother paul and my second dog a puppy bitch called Anna (Toniki ku anna )who was shown in the ring and i remember my first day in the ring with Denise King from Chindara kennels helped me to do her head and also stood at the side of the ring and clapped me on even though i came second and to this day it is something that i still remember and appriciate and it is a shame that all show people do not take that extra effort in the ring as that small gesture i will take with me for the rest of my life.
After Anna had been in the ring it was decided to have a litter of pups from her and I contacted Nuree Mckay from the world renound Liam kennels to mate her where i was soon to begin my training in the breed from welping ,mating and grooming and most important was my training in pedigrees,I have a lot to thank her for and all the friends within the breed that I have got to know over my 37 yrs within pekingese,I have been lucky in meeting my wife Melissa who also has a great love for this breed and has learnt as much as myself in our 26 years of marriage. My old prefix was Tzuhsi and my last dog from that line passed away in our home 5 years ago ,after a traumatic event within my life I stopped showing and breeding my dogs 12 years ago and had a small venture into miniture dachshounds but my one true love was and always will be the pekingese ,so my wife and I decided to venture again into the breed again selecting stock with excellant bloodlines as we have always kept up to date with the breed as once you have a peke you will always have one as they have a way of grabbing at your heartstrings.
It was decided to have both our names on our prefix and the Waaini was chosen by our daughter Madalene after she came home from school and said the name to us from her chinese lessons and said that it meant "I love you" the perfect name for our kennel .We are lucky enough to have bred our first litter in this name and will gain again have the name that we once had ,We have again had great days at the shows reaquainting with our fellow exibitors and gaining new friends with in this breed and others like our new good friends the Rudders from goshe pugs .We know that our kennel will live on with our daughter who has a strong interest within the breed and in the showring and our grandson Bryce who also treasures this magical breed that will always be in our hearts and lives ,with us is the future to give back the qualities needed and again start off new exibitors and breeders in Pekingese within Australia like we did in the past to improve our dogs ,help is always available with us when ever asked even if asked by those that have wronged us,but to those people our stock will never be availiable .
We wish nothing but the best for all our wonderful Pekingese within Australia and with all working united we can all have the dogs as popular as were many years ago ,as they still are and start off future breeders and exihibitors so as our breed that we all love will live on for another 2000 yrs .
