Kazzie's story in pictures

You think dogs will not be in heaven?
I tell you, they will be there long before any of us.

Tairnbacher Quini,
our beloved
'Kaz'
Sire: *Tairnbacher Nemesis
Dam: Tairnbacher Indigo

12 March 1992 - May 2004

She was our other eyes that could see above the clouds;
Our other ears that heard above the winds.
She was the part of us that could reach out into the sea.
She told us a thousand times over that we were her reason for being:
 By the way she rested against our legs;
 By the way she thumped her tail at our smallest smile;
By the way she showed her hurt when we left without taking her.
(We thought it made her sick with worry when she was not along to care for us.)
When we were wrong, she was delighted to forgive.
When we were angry, she clowned to make us smile.
When we were happy, she was joy unbounded.
When we were fools, she ignored it.
 When we succeeded, she bragged.
Without her we are only other humans.
 With her we were all-powerful.
She was loyalty itself.
She taught us the meaning of devotion.
With her, we knew secret comforts & private peace.
She brought us understanding where before we were ignorant.
Her head on our knees could heal our human hurts.
Her presence by our sides was protection against our fears of dark & unknown things.
She promised to wait for us...whenever...wherever - in case we need her,
& we expect we will - as we always have.
Who was she?

'JUST OUR KAZ'

.... oh my handsome man
how I miss you

14 November 1999 - 11 December 2005

In my garden, beneath a gum tree, or a wattle, or any native shrub,
is an excellent place to bury such a good dog.
He played beneath such trees, & under such shrubs, he slept in the blazing summer sun,
or gnawed at a bone,
or lifted his great head to challenge a stranger.
Here he waited in calm & patient certainty of my return then exploded in the joyous exuberance of youth,
or much later, greeted me with the dignity of a Statesman.
These are good places in life or death.
For this dog will be remembered & when he leaps through my dreams,
actual as in life, eyes shining, laughing, begging, it doesn’t matter at all where he finally sleeps.
Whether it’s on a hill with the wind blowing through his coat, where the trees are soaring,
where he tirelessly chased & fetched sticks or other unidentifiable objects.
His spirit will be there beside me anyhow, whenever I walk along the bush tracks.
It doesn’t matter at all if I never, ever know that last resting place.
It is all one to the dog, & all one to me, & nothing is gained & nothing is lost – for memory lives.
But still there is one best place to bury a dog.
When I bury him in this spot he will come to me when I call – come to me over shadowy frontiers,
down that well remembered path & to my side again.
And though I call my living dogs to heel they won’t resent his coming for they know he belongs with me
& his gentle presence will surround them again.
People may laugh at me who see no slightest blade of grass bent by his returning footfall,
who hear no joyous greeting – people who may never have truly loved any dog.
I will be tolerant of them, smile at them & pity them a little,
for I know something that is hidden from them, & that is well worth knowing.
I will remember this, when a tear drops unbidden & my throat tightens as memories swirl around me:

'THE ONE BEST PLACE TO BURY A BELOVED DOG IS IN YOUR HEART'.

Hilltop Vroni
.... my darling girl
'Vron'
Sire: *Iwan vom Lechtal
Dam: *Hilltop Maddii

 9 July 1999 - 24 March 2010

Winter has come for me, can't carry on.
The Chains to my life were strong but now they are gone.
I'll spread my wings one more time.
Is it a dream?
All the ones I have loved calling out my name.
The sun warms my face.
All the days of my life, I see them passing me by.
In my heart I know I can let go.
Now at the end I find some peace inside.
New wings are growing tonight.
As I am soaring I'm one with the wind.
I am longing to see you again, it's been so long.
We will be together again.

Vron you died as you had lived
In the arms of one who loved you.

Goodbye my beauty,

Goodbye my friend.

8 May 1999 - 15 July 2006

Not the least hard thing to bear when they go from us,
these quiet friends,
is that they carry away with them so many years of our own lives.

Goodbye, God Bless & God Speed, Sweet Man.

18 November 2005 - 23 November 2006
Result of accident

There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
But when we are certain of sorrow in store
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.

Kazkiri Nautulus
'Jett'
Sire:*Igor von Pallas Athene
Dam: *Hilltop Vroni

23 March, 2006 - 11 November, 2007

Tragically

Be very wary of where you board your beloved companions.
Jett had been abandoned  at a boarding kennel for 7 weeks.
Once I was contacted by the boarding kennel, arrangements were made to bring Jett home to Kazkiri.
Jet was a very large dog but weighed under 25kg on his arrival home.

Very much loved companion

"Enya was an exceptional dog...Loved to play with our cats and a gentle and loyal companion...Enjoyed her trips to the doggie beauty parlour every couple of months...Loved her lamb shanks every couple of days and a great mouser!...Far better than the cats... Both Guy and I are devastated at loosing our girl..."

"Keely keeps the smiles going"

Our sincere sympathy to Denice, Guy & Keely

Kazkiri Born to Move
'Zac'
Sire: *Kazkiri Shaquille
Dam: *Hilltop Vroni

16 January 2002 - 9 November 2010

Very much loved companion of Marianne & Grant

The VET suspected that Zac had been bitten by a snake and recommended an anti-venom injection.  Grant agreed to the Vet administering the anti-venom but unfortunately Zac didn't make it long enough for them to administer it.

Our sincere sympathy to Marianne & Grant

A good dog never dies.
He always stays.
He walks besides you on crisp autumn days when frost is on the paddocks and winter's drawing near.
His head is within our hand in his old way.

RIP Zac

Kazkiri Zabriski
'Sarge'
Sire: Igor vom Pallas Athene
Dam: Hilltop Vroni

1 February 2006 - 20 April 2011

Beloved companion of Veronica, Laurence & Paul.
Our sincere sympathy to you all.

"The poor dog, in life the firmest friend,
the first to welcome, foremost to defend.
Whose honest heart is still the master's own,
Who labours, fights, live, breathes for him alone,
Unhonour'd falls, unnoticed all his worth,
Denied in heaven the soul he held on earth,
While man, vain insect hopes to be forgiven,
And claims himself a sole exclusive heaven."

Vanharley Vaquero
'Buzz'

31 July 2002 - 10 June 2011
Sire: *Kazkiri Shaquille
Dam: *Vanharley Quanta

To call Buzz a dog hardly seems to do him justice,
though inasmuch as he had four legs, a tail, and barked,
I admit he was, to all outward appearances.
But to those who knew Buzz well, he was a perfect gentleman.

Nic, please accept our heartfelt sympathy.
Alan, Noreen, Alison, Steve & families.

'Karla'
Sire: * Schaeferfund Phanto
Dam: * Tairnbacher Quini
27 Feb 1997 - 28 Nov 2011

On the 27th February  1997 a tiny bundle of joy came into the world,  she didn't realise how much of an impact the love & joy she gave to her family would make.

The dogs who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think we hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be,
And, sometime, coming home at night, we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts belongs to them...
and always will.

Sincere sympathy to Hian & family.

 RIP Karla

 Kazkiri Kreuzer
'Kreuze'
Sire: Vegas von Dongmiran
Dam: Jannire Black Betty
28 Oct 2010 - 3 Dec 2011
Alison, Steve, Jack, Caitlyn, Alan & I are devastated at losing Kreuze at such a young age.
Tragically taken from us far too soon.

Fly, fly little wing
Fly beyond imagining
The softest cloud, the whitest dove
Upon the wind of heaven's love
Past the planets and the stars
Leave this lonely world of ours
Escape the sorrow and the pain
And fly again

Fly, fly precious one
Your endless journey has begun
Take your gentle happiness
Far too beautiful for this
Cross over to the other shore
There is peace forevermore
But hold this mem'ry bittersweet
Until we meet

Fly, fly do not fear
Don't waste a breath, don't shed a tear
Your heart is pure, your soul is free
Be on your way, don't wait for me
Above the universe you'll climb
On beyond the hands of time
The moon will rise, the sun will set
But I won't forget

Fly, fly little wing
Fly where only angels sing
Fly away, the time is right
Go now, find the light

RIP Our Beautiful Boy.
