ABOUT ME/US:
In 1970 I became a Registered breeder with the Royal Australian Kennel Control, now known as DogsNSW.
At no stage in my life have I not always had with me Bull Terriers, Working German Shepherds & Working Kelpies.In 1980 I founded the world famous UD Working Kelpie Stud & to this day many breeders use my old stock as their foundation dogs as they were such good all-round, stable workers.
To this day they are used around the world for mustering & working sheep, cattle, deer, reindeer, ducks, goats etc.I recieved my MACVs as a Geneticist & Behaviourist for Canines & Equines, then later my PhD.
I was an All Breeds Show judge during the 1980's & 90's, Specialising in Terriers & Working Dogs.
Later, I established AWSDT (Australia Wide Speclised Dog Training) & have worked under the NSW Attorney Generals Office now for many years, breeding & training dogs to be Service, Assistance, Therapy & Medical Alert dogs for the deaf, disabled & ill.
AWSDT was the first to place Therapy dogs into Australian Jails.
AWSDT is the first to specialise in the training of 'ALLERGY ALERT' dogs for people allergic to peanuts & shellfish.
AWSDT Allergy Alert dogs are making ground breaking headway with these special detection dogs & we are the first to do so in Australia.
BULL TERRIERS:
I met my first Bull Terriers nearing 8 years of age when I started working before and after school, cleaning, feeding and bathing the show dogs at a breeding kennel in Sydney. That started my passion for the breed and it's never stopped.I later became the breeding geneticist behind 3 of the top show winning Bull Terriers breeders in Australia during the late 1970's & 1980's.
It was during this time that I wanted to see where certain faults & virtues were coming from in our 'Aussie' dogs, so I went to the UK & stayed with Ray Oppenheimer & Eve Wetherill, & visited some other very well known Bull Terrier personalities.
In the early 70's I made my first trip to England.
It was then that I met & handled some very well known dogs including the great old dog Ormany's Superlative Bar Sinister, who was magnificent even at that late stage of his life.This led to importing my first male Bull Terrier who was specially line-bred for me by Ray & Eve.
He was a magnificent white bull type with the most superb movement, beautifull head & correct mouth.
He was a lit bit long in back, which for that era was nothing, as he was excellent everywhere else. He produced quite a lot of outstanding puppies, even when mated to some very rubbishy outside bitches.Later I imported an Abraxas male which I sold on as he wasn't good enough or what I was looking for.
Not long after that, I imported a white male from the USA sired by ROM CH Banbury Benson of Redrock (ROM CH Souperlative Special of Ormandy x a ROM CH Monkery Sea Boots daughter) x Souperlative Silhouette's Image (CH. Souperlative Jackadandy of Ormandy X CH. Souperlative Scrumptious of Ormandy).
Unfortunately he only produced a few litters before he was bitten by a King Brown snake & was killed.
But what he produced were absolute crackers and certainly years ahead of their time over here.* I concentrate & strive to breed healthy Bull Terriers, mentally & physically.
* Any dog that has any type of genetic disease, or physical defect that will affect it's
health, is destroyed.
* We do NOT sell or breed from defective stock & never will.
* We prefer our dogs to be large, heavy boned 'bull' types as much as possible.
* Smaller bitches if used are very classy and are of extremely good type.
* Our dogs are sound & have good movement.
* All our Bull Terriers are completely people & animal friendly & are not dog aggressive.

GERMAN SHEPHERDS:
Being born into a household of Military Police German Shepherd's, I've always been a dog lover & have lived my life totally surrounded by dogs (horses, cattle & sheep).Both my grandfather and my father were in the RAAF & were K9 trainer/breeders.
I spent a fair few years at the old Ingleburn K9 training facility in Sydney with the training of the sentry, scout, tracking & detection dogs.
A few of these methods of training I still use to this day.All our Working German Shepherd puppies are from the very best active working bloodlines available from proven working stock worldwide.
I took fully trained disaster search & rescue dogs with me to help at America's 9/11 (the worst two weeks I've ever spent).
I brought one male back with me and gave the others to two delighful SAR families where they lived happily until cancer got them.Our dogs are bred to work, & this they do well - from the Vietnam war to now, our dogs, and dogs trained by us, are still working well and saving lives.
Vonalt Bonny did her first live SAR at only 10 months of age.
A 3 yo boy wandered a over half a kilometer away from the campsite, & even after the local SAR & their friends had made a total mess of the whole area, Bonny found the child in less than an hour ! Her last SAR rescue (at 2 1/2 years of age) was a big one over very rough & dangerous mountain terrain, and we rescued two very lost youths.
That was my last SAR job as I have now retired but still train when I can.Virtually all our dogs that are not currently retired working K9s/breeding stock, are active Security, Bomb/Drug or Police single or dual purpose K9s.
Our Shepherds have very strong drives that can be capped without needing to use compulsion & this makes them very quick & easy to train.
Some lines are harder than others and do need a competent, experienced handler.We totally frown on hyperactivity & will not use any dog that does not have an 'off' switch nor a natural balance between work, play & relaxation.
Civil/Protection dogs are balanced & are not hectic in their work.
